Since 1975, the Day Studio has taught professional high-end painted finishes, murals and color always maintaining the highest standards of technical and creative artistry. The Day Studio offers three areas of comprehensive study, Finishing Techniques, Mural Techniques, and Color Mastery. Small classes intensify learning and can open new areas of professional expertise. In the 1980's the Day Studio began teaching fractal geometry as part of the difficult but often ignored design aspect of instruction. Discovered in 1973, fractals have revolutionized learning in all fields especially art and interior design. Because Fractal proportions, Nature's way of seeing and measuring, guarantees natural balance and realistic beauty, learning to work with fractals gives you a competitive edge. By training the eye to see spatially, you learn to intentionally create hidden fractal chains and mathematical ratios in a finish or interior. Mastering Technique, Design and Color guarantees success in any artistic endeavor and creates a portable skill you can always use. Each of the three Day Studio two week workshops provide a portfolio and a thorough foundation of techniques, tools, applications, mediums, paint chemistry, preparation, glaze formulas, supply sources and practical guidelines for bidding, contracting, presentation and selling.
