what decorative art can really be. The professional decorative artist of the future will be a designer and have their fingers in many pies. Decorative Art is commercial art and always has been. Our source of income will come from many areas. Versatility and the ability to morph one product or service into another without fear or judging yourself is not an easy assignment, but it is a great assignment for an artist with imagination and intuition in good working order. We must learn to to walk with one foot in the left brain world of business and the other foot in the right brain world of the artist. We must also learn how to move back and forth between the slow lane and the fast lane without fear and worry when we change lanes. Everyone will be doing it. Plan on it!
